Curatorial Note
CASA SERICO does not produce objects. It positions them.
Korean material culture has held no fixed place within the authority structures that govern collectible design in Europe: the auction departments, the private collections, the institutions that determine what constitutes lasting value. This absence is not a matter of quality. It is a matter of context, and context is constructed, not inherited.
The house operates through selection, contextualization, authorization, and repositioning. Each object is examined against the standards applied within established collecting categories, lacquer, casework, blade, textile, painting, and placed within a framework legible to collectors who already operate inside that authority structure.
This is not representation of artisans. It is the construction of a position, for a material culture that had none.
Eternal Tangibility. For future heirlooms.
